How to Secure Your E-Aadhaar Card?
In order to secure yourself an e-Aadhaar Card, there are various methodologies you can adopt, the most significant of which are as mentioned below.
- Download E-Aadhaar Card via Aadhaar Number
The first methodology and undoubtedly the most convenient is to download your e-Aadhaar via your already existing Aadhaar number. In order to do this, follow these steps.
- Visit the official Aadhaar website by clicking here.
- Navigate to the tab which reads “My Aadhaar” and click on “Download Aadhaar.”
- Under this section, click on the button which reads “I have.”
- Enter your pre-existing 12 digit Aadhaar number. Here you will get an additional option of generating a masked Aadhaar, which essentially means that your Aadhaar number will be blurred in your downloaded copy.
- Enter the captcha being displayed on your screen, followed by clicking on the “Generate OTP” button.
- You will shortly receive an OTP at your Aadhaar registered mobile number, following which you need to share it on the Aadhaar website.
- Once the above steps are completed, click on the button which reads “Verify and Download” to download your e-Aadhaar.
- Download E-Aadhaar Card via VID or Virtual ID
The next methodology you can adopt to download your e-Aadhaar is by using your pre-existing VID. In order to do this, simply follow the outlined steps.
- Visit the official Aadhaar website by clicking here.
- Navigate to the tab which reads “My Aadhaar” and click on “Download Aadhaar.”
- Under this section, select the option which reads “VID” and click on the button which reads “I have.”
- Continue the process by sharing your virtual ID, pin code, full name, and security code.
- Click on the button which reads “Share OTP.”
- You will shortly receive an OTP at your Aadhaar registered mobile number, following which you need to share it on the Aadhaar website.
- Once your OTP is confirmed, your e-Aadhaar will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
However, do note that in this methodology, your e-Aadhaar will be password protected in PDF format, and its default password will be the first four letters of your name in UPPERCASE followed by your year of birth in YYYY format.
- Download E-Aadhaar Card via EID or Enrollment ID
The next methodology to download your e-Aadhaar is via your pre-existing EID. Follow the below-mentioned steps to do this.
- Visit the official Aadhaar website by clicking here.
- Navigate to the tab which reads “My Aadhaar” and click on “Download Aadhaar.”
- You will be automatically redirected to another website, wherein you will need to enter your EID followed by your fourteen-digit time and date values. Kindly note that your EID necessarily needs to be 14 digits long; thus, kindly verify it before proceeding.
- Continue the process by sharing your virtual ID, pin code, full name, and security code.
- Click on the button which reads “Share OTP.”
- You will shortly receive an OTP at your Aadhaar registered mobile number, following which you need to share it on the Aadhaar website.
- Once your OTP is confirmed, your e-Aadhaar will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
- Download E-Aadhaar Card By Name and Date of Birth
Last but not least is downloading your e-Aadhaar via your full name and date of birth, essentially by conducting a database search. In order to do this, follow these steps.
- Visit the official Aadhaar website by clicking here.
- Navigate to the section where you need to enter your full name along with your registered email address or mobile number to get your security code.
- Click on the button which reads “Share OTP.”
- You will shortly receive an OTP at your Aadhaar registered mobile number, following which you need to share it on the Aadhaar website.
- Once the OTP is verified, your Aadhaar enrollment number will be displayed both on your screen as well as sent to your email address and phone number.
- Upon receiving it, revisit the Aadhaar website and follow the steps outlined under the “via enrollment number” section of this article.
