Initially, an Aadhaar holder who has not registered their mobile number can not download their Aadhaar card. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), the body that is in charge of the Aadhaar number, uses the mobile number to verify the person’s identity.
But now Aadhaar holders will be able to download their Aadhaar card even without their mobile numbers. Read on to know how you can do that-
If you have lost your registered mobile number or do not want to register your mobile number for some reason, you can easily download Aadhaar card without mobile number. Just follow these steps to do it-
Step-1: Go to the official Aadhaar website and choose your preferred language.
Step-2: Click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC card’ under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section.
Step-3: Another screen will open where you have to choose the same option again to proceed.
Step-4: On the next screen, you will have to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number or your 28-digit Enrolment number. Enter the captcha, and click on ‘My mobile number is not registered.’
Step-5: In the space, please enter an alternate mobile number, and click on ‘Send OTP’. Select ‘I agree to the terms and conditions’, enter the OTP, and click ‘Submit’.
Step-6: Then click on ‘Make Payment’ to be redirected to the payment gateway. After you complete the payment, a receipt having a digital signature will be generated. You can download this in the PDF format.
Step-7: You will get the Service Request Number via SMS, and you can use it to check the status of your Aadhaar card.
Your Aadhaar number helps to confirm your identity for various banking and non-banking purposes. But if you have lost your mobile number that you registered with Aadhaar, or have not yet registered your mobile number, don’t worry!
You can now download your Aadhaar card even without your registered number.
