
Initially, an Aadhaar holder who has not registered their mobile number can not download their Aadhaar card. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), the body that is in charge of the Aadhaar number, uses the mobile number to verify the person’s identity.
But it is possible for Aadhaar holders to be able to download their Aadhaar card even without their mobile numbers. Read on to know how you can do that -
If you have lost your registered mobile number, you will have to register your new mobile number. You can do so by visiting your nearest Aadhaar Centre.
Once you have registered your mobile number, just follow these steps to download your Aadhaar card-
Step-1: Go to the official Aadhaar website and choose your preferred language.
Step-2: Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section.
Step-3: In the next screen, enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha, and click on ‘Send OTP’.
Step-4: You will receive an OTP on your registered number. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify and Download’
Step-6: Your Aadhaar card will automatically download to your computer in PDF format.
Step-7: The PDF will be password-protected. To unlock, the password will be the first four letters of your name followed by your year of birth.
For example, if your name is ANISH Y KUMAR and your year of birth is 1989, then the password will be ANIS1989.
If you have already added your Aadhaar card to DigiLocker, you can find it by following these steps:
Step 1: Log in to DigiLocker using your credentials.
Step 2: Go to “Issued Documents.”
Step 3: Click on “Aadhaar Card.”
Step 4: You can download it by clicking the share icon.
