Link UAN with Aadhaar Online

EPFO has enabled UAN to be linked to Aadhaar through the EPFO e-KYC Portal. This process is simple, time-saving, and dependable. 

To link UAN with Aadhaar online, follow the steps outlined below -

  • Visit the EPFO website, enter your details (UAN and password), and log in.

  • Select ‘Manage’ in the top panel towards the left and then select ‘KYC’.

  • You will be redirected to a new page wherein you will have to provide details such as PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, etc. (as required) under the ‘Add KYC’ section and click on ‘Submit’.

  • These details can be updated and checked under the ‘Pending KYC’ tab.

  • Once these details have been approved (which can take about 15 days), it will be displayed under the ‘Approved KYC’ section.

  • Your UAN-Aadhaar link is thus complete.

Link UAN with Aadhaar Offline

EPFO has made provisions for individuals to link Aadhaar to UAN or EPF account offline as well. Such employees can link their EPF account to Aadhaar by going to an EPFO office (the one nearest to them) and submit the application in person.

If you wish to link your Aadhaar to your EPF account or UAN offline, follow the steps given below -

  • Visit the nearest EPFO office.

  • Request an 'Aadhaar linking application' form from the office.

  • Fill out the form with the necessary information, such as your UAN number and Aadhaar number.

  • After completing the form, attach self-attested copies of your UAN, PAN, and Aadhaar card.

  • After filling out and self-attesting the form, submit it to the ‘Common Service Center’ along with the attached documents.

  • After complete verification of the details, the EPF-Aadhaar link is created.

  • When your UAN is successfully linked to your Aadhaar, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number.

How to Link UAN with Aadhaar through the Umang App

To promote mobile governance in India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) launched UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance). 

Follow the steps listed below to link your EPF account with the UMANG app -

  • Download the UMANG app and login with your registered number or register your number and create an account.

  • To continue using the app, you must first create an MPIN if you have not already.

  • Select 'Enter OTP' and click on 'Continue'.

  • Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Enter your MPIN and log in to the UMANG app.

  • Go to the 'All Services Tab' and select 'EPFO’.

  • In the EPFO section, select 'e-KYC services' and choose ‘Aadhaar Seeding’ option under 'e-KYC services'.

  • Now enter your UAN and select 'Get OTP'.

  • An OTP will be sent to your mobile number that is registered to your EPF account which you have to enter.

  • Then, enter your Aadhaar number.

  • You will now receive an OTP to your registered mobile phone number and email address

  • After completing the OTP verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN
