Reaching the airport early or have a layover and don’t know if you can access the lounge? All credit cards have some limited complimentary domestic and international lounge access. However, the rules and number of visits may vary depending on your card.
So, how do you check if your card has lounge access? You can check it both online and offline. Let’s look at both the methods in detail.
This is the best way to check if your card has lounge access. There are multiple websites and portals to make it easy for you. We will discuss them one by one.
If your credit card was issued to you by a bank or another credit provider, you can check access to lounges on their website. Just follow these steps to learn how to check airport lounge access on a credit card -
You can follow the same steps on your bank or credit card provider’s official app.
DreamFolks is an airport lounge access program, and you can use its website to check if your credit card has airport lounge access. Follow these steps to do so -
You can also use the Card Insider app to check if your credit card grants access to the lounge you want to visit. Here are the steps to follow if you want to know how to check lounge access on your card -
This will only work if your card is part of the Priority Pass program. You can check access on either the website or their official app. Follow the steps mentioned below -
This is the simplest way to search if your card allows access to a certain lounge. Just type <card name> followed by the keyword <airport lounge access list>. You will get the official list on your bank or card provider’s website of the lounges that you have access to.
You can use this website to check airport lounge access to Indian airports. It is fairly simple to use the website -
If you are already at the airport and are wondering, ‘how to check if my credit card has lounge access?’, you can do so through the offline method.
Just walk to the reception desk of the lounge at the airport. Present your card to the officials, and they will let you know if you have complimentary visits to the lounge on your credit card.
If you are choosing a credit card and airport lounge access is important to you, keep the following in mind:
Not all credit cards provide complimentary lounge access.
Unless you choose a premium credit card, lounge visits are restricted to a certain number of times per quarter. Check the details of the credit card before you apply.
Check the conditions for receiving complimentary lounge access. Some cards only offer lounge access upon reaching certain spending milestones.
If you travel with someone else, make sure your card gives complimentary visits to more than just the primary cardholder.
Credit cards have different rules for international and domestic lounges.
Now that you know how to check airport lounge access on a credit card, there are certain other things that you should know about airport lounges -
You get ample benefits like food, resting pods, washrooms, workstations, etc., in lounges.
You will need to make a small transaction ranging from Rs.2 to Rs.25 when accessing the lounge. This is a refundable fee in most cases.
The rules and regulations of lounges keep changing, and you must go through them before visiting a lounge.
The name on the credit card should match the name on the boarding pass to be allowed access.
There are certain time limitations and restrictions based on your flight timings. There is also a cap on the number of hours you can spend in a lounge.
Once you have used up your complimentary visits, you will have to pay regular charges if you want to visit a lounge.
Upgrade to high-limit credit cards offering up to ₹5 Lakh.*
Air travel is more common now than it was a decade ago. Given the convenience and the affordability, most people prefer this mode over others. Airport lounges are luxurious spaces to relax and rejuvenate during a layover or if you have extra time before your flight.
You can use them for resting, relaxing, and enjoying quality food and beverages after paying the initial fees. If you are a frequent flyer, having credit cards with lounge access can make your travel more luxurious and comfortable.
Airport lounges have internet access and ample charging stations for your devices. You can also enjoy the complimentary food and beverages offered there. The showers and restrooms are well maintained, and some lounges also have entertainment options and spas available.
Major airports have lounges that charge a minimum fee for accessing them. The amount charged by various airport lounges depends on factors like the company managing the lounge and whether the lounge is in the domestic or international terminal.
Free lounge access credit cards are an option that helps you skip the initial fee and enjoy the benefits. To know if your card has complimentary airport lounge access, you can visit your bank’s website or the specific lounge’s website. You can also go to the kiosk and check with the reception counter.
