UPI Payment Through Credit Card: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Link Credit Cards to UPI?

So you want to start making UPI payments through your credit card? The following guide will help you link your credit card to popular UPI apps like Gpay, PhonePe, and Paytm.

Linking Your Credit Card with Google Pay

Follow these steps to link your credit card to Google Pay:

• Step 1: Open the Google Pay app.
• Step 2: Tap on your profile icon at the top right corner.
• Step 3: Tap on “Pay with credit or debit cards”.
• Step 4: Tap on the “Add card” button.
• Step 5: Your smartphone camera will activate. You can either scan your card or enter the card details manually.
• Step 6: Enter all the required information.
• Step 7: Tap on the “Save and continue” button.
• Step 8: Accept the terms and conditions on the next screen.
• Step 9: Choose your method of verification. You can choose between SMS or E-mail.
• Step 10: Tap on continue and you will receive a verification code.
• Step 11: Enter the verification code.

Once you enter the verification code your card will be added to Google Pay. Now you can make UPI payments through your credit card via Google Pay.

Link Your Credit Card with PhonePe

Here is how you can link your credit card to the PhonePe app:

• Step 1: Open PhonePe app.
• Step 2: Tap on your profile icon at the top left corner.
• Step 3: Under “Payment methods” tap on “Debit & Credit Cards”.
• Step 4: Enter the details of your credit card and tap on the “Add” button.
• Step 5: The app will start the verification process. You will receive an OTP which will be auto-fetched by the app, or you can enter it manually
• Step 6: A transaction of Rs.2 will be made from your card, which will be returned back into your bank account.

You have now added your credit card to the PhonePe app.

How to Link Your Credit Card to Paytm

• Step 1: Open the Paytm app.
• Step 2: Tap on your profile icon at the top left corner.
• Step 3: Tap on “UPI & Payment settings”.
• Step 4: Scroll down and tap on the “Saved cards” button.
• Step 5: Tap on “Add New Card”.
• Step 6: Enter all the required card details.
• Step 7: Tap on the “Pay Rs.2.00” button. You will then receive an OTP.
• Step 8: Enter the OTP and tap on “Confirm”.

Your credit card will be added to your Paytm app.

You can add your credit card to most UPI-enabled apps other than the three apps mentioned above. The linking process will be similar.
