Here are the steps to get your insurance policy number and other details from the Parivahan Sewa portal:

Step 1: Go to https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/nrservices.

Step 2: Click on the “Know Your Vehicle Details” tab.

Step 3: Log in or create an account using your mobile phone number.

Step 4: Enter your vehicle number, fill in the captcha, and click on “Vahan Search”.

You will find details such as your insurance company, validity, and policy number.

How to Download Insurance Policy from DigiLocker

If you are having trouble navigating through your insurance provider’s website, you can try using DigiLocker to download your insurance policy.

Here are the steps to download your insurance policy using DigiLocker:

Step 1: Go to the DigiLocker website.

Step 2: Sign up or sign in to DigiLocker.

Step 3: Open the sidebar menu by clicking the button on the top left corner. Click on “Search documents”.

Step 4: In the search box type in the name of your insurance company.

Step 5: Click on the relevant document that you want to download.

Step 6: Fill in the required information and click on the “Get document” button.

Step 7: Find the document in the ”Issued documents” section.

Step 8: Click on the download button next to the document.

Make sure to get a printed copy of the document that you can carry in your vehicle. This way you will never have to worry about paying fines in case you are caught driving without your insurance papers.
