Which is the Best RuPay Credit Card You Can Get?

RuPay credit cards, like the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank RuPay Credit Card and HSBC RuPay Cashback Credit Card, offer native integration with UPI. So, instead of carrying physical cards or entering 16-digit card numbers, you can link a RuPay credit card directly to payment apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM.

This allows you to scan any merchant's UPI QR code and pay directly with your credit line, rather than withdrawing funds from your savings account. Furthermore, these cards give reward points and benefits on top of the convenience.

How to Make UPI Payments with RuPay Credit Card?

NPCI allows only RuPay credit cards to be linked directly for UPI QR scanning. Visa and Mastercard cannot be scanned over standard UPI QR codes; however, they can be saved for online merchant checkout or tap-and-pay.

To do this, your UPI app mobile number must strictly match the mobile number registered with your credit card issuing bank. Here is a step-by-step guide to linking RuPay credit cards with your payment app:

Step 1: Open app payment settings

Open your UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM) and tap your Profile Picture in the top corner.

Step 2: Select 'Add RuPay Credit Card'

Look for options like "Add RuPay Credit Card on UPI" or "Link Credit Card".

Step 3: Choose your issuing bank

Select the bank that issued your credit card. The app will automatically fetch your RuPay card linked to your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Set or enter your UPI PIN

If you are doing this for the first time, enter the last 6 digits of your RuPay credit card along with the expiry date, verify via OTP, and create a new 4-digit or 6-digit UPI PIN. If already created, use your existing UPI PIN for this card.

How to Use RuPay Credit Card for UPI Payment?

Using your RuPay credit card for UPI payments is straightforward. Simply follow these steps:

Step 1: Open your UPI app and scan the merchant QR code.

Step 2: Enter the bill amount.

Step 3: On the payment selection screen, tap the dropdown menu and select your RuPay credit card instead of your savings bank account.

Step 4: Enter your UPI PIN to authorize the payment.

Conclusion

RuPay credit cards offer the convenience of UPI payments along with the lucrative reward structures of traditional credit cards. The "best" card is subjective and depends on your unique spending profile, whether your priority lies in travel, fuel, dining, or straightforward cashback.

To maximize your benefits, you can estimate where you make most of your monthly expenses before applying to choose the card that aligns with your lifestyle.
